  • What Time Do Race Meetings Start And Finish?
Race meetings do not have fixed times, but as an indication we try to run to the following time schedule:
7:30am - Gates Open in Summer OR 8:00am - Gates Open in Winter
    8:45am - Booking In Closes
9:00am - Track Closes For Practice
9:15am - First Heat Starts Racing
    5:30pm-6:30pm - Race Meeting Finishes

  • What Is The Race Meeting Format?
Club Championship meetings will consist of three or four rounds of qualifying (four rounds if less than 10 heats during the summer) followed by two finals for all. Bonus meeting format at the race directors discretion. Visiting championship formats as defined by that championship.

For summer club meetings FTD qualifying will be used, For winter club meetings a modified format of Round by Round qualifying will be used with the best two from four rounds to count. A round for a class will only count if at least half the entries in that class complete five laps. In the event of the first three rounds being 'lost' due to insufficient cars completing enough laps the fourth round will count regardless.

  • How Much Does It Cost To Race?
For Non-members it costs 10.00 for seniors and 8.00 for juniors (under 16). If you join you will get discounted rates of 5.00 for senior members and 3.00 for junior members.

  • How Do I Enter?
It is simple to enter into a WLRC race meeting. All you have to do is enter on-line here.

  • Do I Have To Be A Member To Race?
Any BRCA member can race at the club but not score championship points. If you are not a BRCA member you will be allowed to race twice before you have to become a member.

  • Can I Race My Current Car?
WLRC runs in accordance to all BRCA 1/10th Circuit Section rules with the exception on tyres, motors and cells mentioned separately in this section.

Any "commercially available" bodyshell (Touring or GT) may be used with a Touring Car. For bodyshell dimensions see the end of this section. For other rules please visit the BRCA Website.

  • What Clases Are Raced?
    WLRC races the following classes:
Scale Saloon Stock Touring - any "commercially available" 27 turn motor with fixed 24 degree timing or 17.5 brushless motor. 6 cell or LiPo with 1350 gram weight limit. Motors may have bearings fitted.
Scale Saloon Super Stock - 6 cell or LiPo with any "commercially available" 13.5 brushless motor with 1350 gram weight limit.
Scale Saloon Pro Stock - 6 cell or LiPo with either BRCA approved 10.5 brushless or 19 turn brushed motor all to 1350 gram weight limit.
Scale Saloon Super Touring - LiPo with any modified or brushless motor with 1350 gram weight limit.
GT-10/F1/Pro 10 - to BRCA rules. Run if sufficient entries (at least six entries).

We regret to inform you that due to the location of the track IC (petrol) cars are not allowed to race. Classes are only raced if we get at least six entries in the appropriate class.

  • What Tyres Can I Use?
For the scale saloon class any commercially available moulded rubber tyre may be used. Tyre additives may be used in the 'dry' only. Additives must NOT contain any trace of wintergreen. Additives must not be used in wet conditions.

  • What Happens If It Rains?
If it rains on the day of the race meeting then the meeting will continue on the wet until the committee deem it pointless to continue. If the track if wet then we would recommend that you waterproof you car to stop the electrics blowing up, if you are not able to do so it is advisable not to race until the track dries. In the event of the meeting being cancelled you will be informed on the day if it is to be re-run at a later date of if the results at that point in the meeting will be taken as final. Additives must not be used in wet conditions.

  • Will There Be power At The Trackside?
We do not provide 240 volts at trackside except for very large meetings. We would recommend that you ensure that all of your chargers etc. are powered from 12 volts (car battery) as this is the usual source of power. However, we do have a VERY LIMITED NUMBER of 240 volt sockets available but please do not rely on these being available. An RCD must be used with 240v main. You may use portable generators.

  • Can I Use The Track To Practice?
You can use WLRC to practice whenever you like. Please respect out neighbours and do not stay too late in the evening or arrive to too early in the morning! You do not need to be a member to practice.

  • How Many Races Count For The Championship?
WLRC use the "Half plus one" rule for championships where you take half the total number of rounds, divide by two and add one (halves are always rounded down). e.g. - from 12 Rounds -> 7 will count. As from 2005 each club race day will consist of two championship rounds.
